چکیده

A power management controller circuit with a switched-capacitor mode down-regulator and a battery charger block for semi-active radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags was proposed and fabricated. The major achievement of the proposed switched-capacitor mode downregulator and battery charger block is providing a low standby current internal voltage supply circuit and self-controlled thin film battery charger by detecting a voltage level generated using received RF power. The area of fabricated chip is about 360,000 square μm, and standby current is approximately 1.3 μA. Battery - Powered RFID Deva

In this article, we compare the different types of batterypowered RFID tags that are available today and explore several emerging wireless standards that are candidates for active RFID tagging. We also present an active RFID platform we have developed and a supply chain application implemented on that platform. INTRODUCTION Passive (battery-less) RFID technology has been the primary candidate f...

A Platform for RFID Security and Privacy Administration (Awarded Best Paper!)

This paper presents the design, implementation, and evaluation of the RFID Guardian, the first-ever unified platform for RFID security and privacy administration. The RFID Guardian resembles an ‘‘RFID firewall,’’ that monitors and controls access to RFID tags by combining a standard-issue RFID reader with unique RFID tag emulation capabilities. Our system provides a platform for both automated ...

Design and Implementation of Field Programmable Gate Array Based Baseband Processor for Passive Radio Frequency Identification Tag (TECHNICAL NOTE)

In this paper, an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) base band processor for a passive tag is presented. It proposes a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag digital base band architecture which is compatible with the EPC C C2/ISO18000-6B protocol. Several design approaches such as clock gating technique, clock strobe design and clock management are used. In order to reduce the area Decimal Matrix C...

Evaluation of RFID Tags to Permanently Mark Trees in Natural Populations

Long-term ecological and genetic studies in natural populations of tree species require marking techniques so that individuals can be re-visited over time, even in difficult terrain. Both GPS coordinates and physical labels have disadvantages that can make re-finding trees difficult. We tested passive and semi-active radio frequency identification (RFID) tags and readers as a means to relocate ...

A Sub-0.5V Lattice-Based Public-Key Encryption Scheme for RFID Platforms in 130nm CMOS

Implementing public-key cryptography on passive RFID tags is very challenging due to the limited die size and power available. Typical public-key algorithms require complex logical components such as modular exponentiation in RSA. We demonstrate the feasibility of implementing public-key encryption on low-power, low cost passive RFID tags to large-scale private identification. We use Oded Regev...
